Two Second Memory

I’ve just been looking at the gmail keyboard shortcuts and was absolutely joyous to find that the following mappings, amongst others, are used:

• * / search
• * k move to newer conversation
• * j move to older conversation
• * n next message
• * p previous message

Not much to get excited about you might say. Well, as I sure you geeks will realise are vi bindings. The last two are tributes to (I think) pine or possibly elm.
I remember when I first started using vi (because I thought I should!) about 15 years ago my then boss laughed at me for using an antiquated editor and why on earth would anyone map up, down, left & right to j, k, h & l respectively. And now Google mail have made these their keyboard shortcuts.

I love it!
